Meet TMI Design.

TMI Design was born out of a sense of gnawing desperation. The idea emerged after a boozy night in late September 2025 at our favorite bar in Möllan, where we, Lisa Thudén, an industrial- and lighting designer, and Hedda Mannhard, an architect, lamented the ongoing recession and the tough industries we somewhat regret entering. To keep ourselves occupied during unemployment, we had each been crafting furniture and lamps at home, and began wondering whether we should put our restless hands and minds together.

The result was TMI Design - an upcycling project with a twist. The name refers to the stories embedded in every second-hand object’s history and potential. Each piece we work with carries several layers: the former owner’s functional and emotional relationship with it, and the potential for new stories in its transformed form. We share these layers openly - sometimes perhaps a bit too openly - inviting our audience into the intimate stories hidden within each object.
